Retail Store Supervisor - Calgary, AB

Job Description:

  • Retail Store Supervisor, $15.50 Hourly, Full-time
  • All shifts required (day, evening, night, weekends, holidays)

Requirements:

  • Completion of High School, preferably with some related course work
  • 1 year to less than 2 years related experience in convenience store environment, with some supervisory experience preferred
  • Must be fluent in spoken and written English
  • Lottery terminal and cash register payprint experience
  • Friendly personality, excellent customer service skills and be able to respond to a variety of customer needs.

Skills and Duties:

  • Supervise sales and returns, knowledge of all variety of products sold, stocking of all products including beverages based on planogram
  • Supervise and co-ordinate sales staff and cashiers, ordering of all products, dealing with suppliers, receiving deliveries, assign sales workers to duties, sell merchandise, resolve customer complaints and supply shortages, maintain specified inventory, prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters

Plant Finance Manager - Innisfail, AB

Summary of Position:
Currently seeking candidates for the position of Plant Finance Manager to be located in Innisfail, AB. This location plays a critical role in executing JM’s Building Insulation strategy. The Finance Manager is the most senior financial leader at the plant site and a key member of the site leadership team as well as the division finance team. This position offers the high visibility due to the magnitude & strategic importance of this site. Success in the position opens doors to career advancement into Denver, CO WHQ.

This position requires the ability to analyze and interpret complex financial and operational data, lead efforts to identify cost reduction and productivity recommendations and partner with the plant leadership team to drive focus & ownership of cost and productivity efforts. The Finance Manager must also have the interpersonal skills and leadership abilities to successfully collaborate with others to implement recommendations and drive change initiatives.

The Finance Manager will ensure that the financial records of the Innisfail, AB location accurately reflects business performance and that financial control are complied with. The position will provide financial leadership for plant personnel through rigorous analysis and evaluation of data. Financial expertise will be expected in the areas of cost, general, fixed asset and project accounting and analysis across multiple business units. The individual will drive operational and financial improvement (e.g., plant indirect expense challenge, safety and variable cost initiatives). Additional duties include managing the closing, forecasting and budgeting processes for the plant, providing inventory management.


Key Responsibilities:
•Identify appropriate performance based metrics; drive ownership & organizational discipline to monitor & proactively optimize financial performance - act as partner to the plant manager to drive cost & productivity initiatives
•Accurate monthly closing and reporting of financial results to plant manager, his staff and division personnel.
•Meaningful analysis of monthly operating results quantifying sources of variability, inflation, productivity & unusual items etc
•Maintenance of internal controls and SOX compliance requirements
•Monthly forecast and annual budgeting process
•Financial evaluation of capital spending projects


Qualifications:
•6+ years plant financial management experience
•Knowledge/expertise in Canadian GAAP, Tax, Payroll
•Proven ability to drive cost reduction and productivity initiatives & effectively enlist others' participation in change initiatives
•Proficient in the development and use of performance based metrics, scorecards etc.
•Demonstrated ability to negotiate/collaborate with suppliers and other third parties
•Strong people development skills - proven ability to develop financial talent, provide growth opportunities & optimize performance
•Demonstrated analytical abilities
•Strong project management experience
•Strong knowledge of manufacturing/plant level accounting systems including payroll, apay, inventory, general ledger etc
•Demonstrated knowledge and application of best practices re finance, manufacturing and physical distribution
•Strong decision making and problem resolution skills
• SAP/ERP experience preferred
•BA/BS in Accounting / Finance - CMA preferred
•Exposure to Six Sigma & Lean manufacturing & inventory mgmt principles; certification or formal training preferred.
•Strong people and presentation skills

Manager, Plant Health and Safety - Innisfail, AB

Job Description:

The Manager, Plant Health and Safety, is responsible for all safety and health programs for 160+ employee fiberglass manufacturing facility. The role includes maintaining compliance with JM's HS&E standards and existing Federal, Provincial and local regulations. They are responsible for driving continuous improvement in our Health & Safety program.

The Innisfail Alberta plant produces formaldehyde-free fiber glass building insulation. Most of the insulating value of our product comes from the air which is trapped between the glass fibers. This is the same principal that is at work in the case of wool or hair on an animal, fill in a sleeping bag, insulating clothing, or thermal pane windows.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide accurate, cost-effective and timely technical and regulatory compliance support to the plant.
• Coordinate site/plant-wide safety audits, analyze results and provide recommendations.
• Facilitate incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Recommends improvements in processes, design, procedures and operating equipment, to minimize hazardous potential.
• Establish and implement plant-wide safety communications, as well as develop and deliver employee training, emergency preparedness and quality assurance programs.
• Provide regulatory interpretation and technical advice.
• Reporting and safety program responsibilities as driven by corporate safety.
• Serve as backup on Environmental issues

Qualifications:
• BS/BA degree in Safety Engineering, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years solid safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of behavior based safety including general principles, audit process, root cause analysis, incentives and accountability.
• Great interpersonal skills - ability to relate to all levels.
• Solid knowledge of Alberta safety rules, regulations and laws or ability to come up to speed rapidly.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Thorough and applied knowledge of Microsoft programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to develop collaborative relationships across all levels of organization.
Additional Consideration Given To Those With:
• Relevant Safety credentials – example: CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional).
• Experience in hazard awareness and risk assessment for flammable and hazardous materials.
