Skill Requirements:
Education:
Completion of high school, Some college/vocational or technical training
Credentials:
Not required but certificate in food and beverage serving an advantage
Experience:
1 year to less than 2 years
Languages:
Must know how to speak, read and write English. Should also know how to speak in Mandarin and/or Cantonese since most employees and customers are Chinese.

Food and Beverage Serving Skills:
Serve food and beverages, general plate service, Serve food and beverages, formal or French service, Prepare and serve flambés and other specialties at customers' tables, Present bills to customers and accept payment in cash, credit or debit cards, travellers cheques or room billings, Describe menu items including daily specials for customers, Advise on menu selections
Additional Skills:
Customer service oriented, Must be of legal age to mix and serve alcoholic beverages, Address customers' complaints or concerns, Assist customers with special needs, Enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations, Balance cash and record sales, Clear and clean tables, trays and chairs, Load buspans and trays, Set tables, Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas, Replace linen
