OFFICE MANAGER
We are a non-profit organization with a mandate to promote research, technology development and training to increase scientific and applied knowledge in all areas of waste management. We assist researchers and innovators with practical and academic expertise, plus access to a wide range of facilities, for the reduction and reuse of waste and waste water. Our employees share a common philosophy that research into waste management contributes to environmental sustainability and better quality of life.
We operate from two facilities: the Gold Bar Wastewater Research and Training Centre (WRTC) and the Cover Bar Solid Waste Research and Development Facility. This position is based at the WRTC, but will have considerable interaction with Centre staff based at other facilities. The hourly rate will depend on qualifications and experience. Consideration may be given to incorporation of flexible work hours.
Key functions will include:
• General office administration
• Maintain files and reference library
• Reception functions
• Assist with committee meetings
• Assist with logistics of delegation visits, technical seminars and other events
You have a high school diploma, proven work experience in general office administration and an interest in working in a not-for-profit organization with a focus in the environmental field. An Office Assistant Diploma will be considered an asset.
You are a self-motivated, highly organized and flexible individual with strong attention to detail. You are a good communicator with effective interpersonal and teamwork skills. You are able to multi-task and are skilled in using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).You must possess a valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License and supply your own vehicle for business use as required. You will be reimbursed in accordance with the car allowance policy.
