Software Developer
Location: Vancouver, BC

Pacific Alliance Technologies is further expanding our implementation team. You will be an integral part of the Vancouver based geospatial development team, providing internal development services. You will be focused on Microsoft technologies integrated with the latest geospatial software technologies from Google, Microsoft, Autodesk and ESRI.

This is an entry level position working within a dynamic team. You will have a strong background in software development. You will possess formal training, with a minimum of one year of hands-on experience. You will have strong communication skills and be a team player.

You will have a demonstrated ability in web development and associated technologies (AJAX, HTML, XML, Web Services). You will have experience of working in the Microsoft .NET development environment. Knowledge of C# would be ideal however other Windows programming languages may be considered. Experience with CAD/GIS products, Microsoft SQL server and Oracle would be advantageous but is not a prerequisite.

Duties:
1. Team

3) Review staff directly reporting to the COO.

2. Safety:
1) Ensure safety committee establishes rules and maintains Certificate of Recognition (COR)
2) Ensure staffs are following safety procedures.
3) Liaison with Insurers – review applications for all major insurance policies each year.

3. Strategy
1) Responds to corporate governance and management of the board.
2) Develops policy and procedures.
3) Be responsible for the day-to-day management of the company.
4) Implement the company strategy which includes defining and implementing human resources strategy by through employee annual review, hiring of key staff.
5) Develop and maintain annual budgets.

4. Marketing:
1) Ensure marketing strategic plan is executed. Manage trade marking and other strategic aspects of marketing

4) Determine which markets to enter Co-ordinate Marketing Plan evolution with marketing assistant
5) Represent Ecomark at key receptions, events and functions

5. Projects:
1) Monitor projects to ensure both internal and external resources are sufficient to meet clients’ goals and agreed deadlines.
2) Monitor and keep overall budget.

Safety Certifications required:
Standard First Aid
Alberta Class 5 Drivers License
Other safety certificates as required

Experience Required:
At least 12 years experience and sound management of responsibility of groups of 10 or more staff.
Signing professional belonging to an acceptable professional body in an environmental field would be an asset as well as knowledge of Alberta and Canadian regulations in safety and environmental law.
