Job Description:
The City of Swift Current is seeking a key player for its Fire Department management team. Located on the Trans Canada Highway, Swift Current is a progressive City of 16,000 people serving as the hub of South West Saskatchewan, within a trading area of approximately 55,000 people. The area is largely an agricultural base, with oil and gas, tourism and manufacturing sectors contributing to the economy. The City of Swift Current has many larger city amenities, and provides the quality of life of a smaller community.
The Fire Department is a composite department consisting of Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chiefs, full-time Fire Fighters and a complement of Auxiliary Fire Fighters. This is one of two positions which, under the direction of the Fire Chief, share core responsibilities including Fire Suppression, Fire Prevention, Fleet Management, Staff Development, Operations, Public Education, Quality Assurance, and other management related duties...
