Job Description:
Strategic Direction
· Participate in strategic planning efforts
· Attend regular meetings with management team
· Prepare the budget with input from other managementFinancial
· Meet regularly with the CEO and President to discuss financial matters
· Communicate regularly with the accounting staff and direct all accounting activities
· Prepare payroll biweekly, using QuickBooks
· Prepare and maintain employee personnel records
· Supervise the detailed management of accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, inventory control and purchasing
· Provide timely cash flow reports and monthly financial statements by the 20th of each month
· Provide analysis of financial information in terms of cost analysis, profit & loss and projections that will focus other senior managers on specific areas of the business at require improvement and assist in their decision making
· Lead monthly financial review meetings
· Assist the external accountant in compiling annual financial statements
· Manage relationships with financial institutions and tax authorities
· Provide advice on ad hoc tax and financial questions as required
· Ensure accounting processes and workflow are soundOperations
· Monitor financial performance of operations
· Participate in the definition of important policies and procedures, as appropriate
· Initiate actions to prevent problems and contribute to problem solutionsProject Delivery
· Monitor financial performance of project deliveryCustomers
· Get involved in A/R collections, if necessaryLegal
· Participate in corporate legal matters if requiredKey Indicators
· All financial reporting is accurate and on time
· Cash flow within acceptable boundaries
· No losses incurred through bad financial decisions
