Job Description:
2010 Legacies Now is a not-for-profit society that works in partnership with community organizations, non-government organizations (NGOs), the private sector and all levels of government to develop sustainable legacies in sport & recreation, arts, literacy, and volunteerism. 2010 Legacies Now actively assists communities discover and create unique and inclusive social and economic opportunities leading up to, during and beyond the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
In this newly created position, you will report to the Director, Information Technology and support the strategic direction of the Society by leading the development of web and intranet projects, and the integration of enterprise-wide applications
Specific Accountabilities/Deliverables:
• Assist project team in product development lifecycle, including: business and functional requirements gathering, defining product vision, reviewing vendor design concepts, QA/UAT testing, and implementation of end product;
• Provide input as requested on strategic direction and assist with determining technology solutions to satisfy business functional needs;
• Develop a good understanding of all areas of the organization to gather business requirements for intranet applications;
• Conduct workshops to translate business functional requirements into product requirements through workflow diagrams;
• Work as a liaison among stakeholders, IT department, and outside technology providers to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, new and existing websites, and enterprise systems;
• Track progress, ensure timely execution and delivery of projects;
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications/Skill Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years experience working in a similar position, as well as applications/systems development background in multi-tier client/server environment;
• Minimum 3 years business applications development experience, project management skills, processes and methodologies;
• University degree in Computer Science and/or other post secondary accreditations that would contribute to the role;
• Proven track record managing and deploying multiple projects;
• A technical and analytical thinker who can apply analytical skills to business needs, and communicate these needs in a clear manner;
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to deliver services on time in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, together with sound project delivery methodologies;
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, as well as facilitation techniques;
• A team player who promotes a collaborative work environment;
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and supervision;
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment;
• Has experience participating in and leading change management;
• It would be a definite asset to have:
Experience with development and/or deployment of CRM applications;
Development experience in HTML/XML, Java, mySQL/SQL, .Net;
Experience in development and/or implementation of SharePoint Portal Service;
Working knowledge of MS Visio and MS Project;
Knowledge of Linux/Open Source platform and architecture.
